Job Summary of the HR Director, Compensation and Benefits position
Integr8staff seeks a proven Human Resources Director of Compensation and Benefits to develop direct, implement and manage companywide strategies, objectives, and administration of benefits plans (health & welfare, retirement, equity, compensation). Responsible for identifying leading practices, monitoring internal and external market practices to ensure the company remains competitive and within compliance. Responsibilities of the HR Director, Compensation and Benefits position
Works with executive management to design and implement short-term and long-term benefits strategies to meet the company’s overall strategic business goals.
Designs and implements programs with a clear understanding of company culture.
Understands the objectives of the company’s leadership and establishes feedback loops to ensure programs meet the needs of the business.
Responsible for annual plan reviews, vendor relationships, recommendations, and vendor management across all benefits areas
Works with HR Shared Services organizational build-out and implementations to support employee partnerships, system integrations, upgrades, work-flow improvements, and operational process decisions.
Leverages the HR Shared Services delivery model as appropriate.
Continues to operate with an M&A mindset regarding benefits plan design and management. Consolidates legacy retirement plans with the support of outside technical expertise.
Works with HR Labor Relations, Legal, and Accounting to monitor pension funds to advise and support accordingly.
Works closely with HR Compliance and Internal Audit to define, monitor, and ensure related Benefits controls.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to benefits to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Works with each Benefits function (Compensation, Retirement, and Health and Welfare) to stabilize and evolve operations while developing team members.
Works with executive management to stabilize operations, establish team operating norms, best practices, and implement process improvements across all functions, sometimes collaborating with other HR teams and corporate departments.
Provides business process leadership for the benefits administration function.
Continuous improvement through use of HRIS data, automated workflow and integration, technology, collaboration, and process improvement.
Perform sometimes complex root-cause analysis, across teams, to problem solve and communicate issues, also proposing and driving solutions.
Accountable for performance and delivery of programs and projects across compensation, retirement, and health and welfare
Works closely with Internal Audit and Accounting to achieve various internal objectives
Accountable for all administration for current and future benefits, not limited to Enterprise compensation administration, equity program administration, 401K, Deferred Compensation, ESOP, Pension, Health Plans, Supplemental Plans, Vision and Dental
Responsible for supporting plan audits on an annual and as-needed basis
Responsible for various benefits department projects both strategic and ad hoc.
Responsible for all Benefits vendor management.
Requirements of the HR Director, Compensation and Benefits position
At least 15 years’ experience leading benefits strategy/ administration function required.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing others required.
Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience required.
Demonstrated ability to build a team and department to support strategic objectives.
Proven ability to coordinate national, enterprise programs simultaneously to achieve comprehensive benefits administration.
A self-starter who knows when to validate approach and ask for help.
Customer service mind-set and a proactive way of working to service the customers.
Adaptability and flexibility are a must.
Maintains knowledge of benefits best practices - understands the depth/breadth of complex HR issues.
Anticipates future trends and creates competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans.
Understands business landscape and how political and economic issues influence benefits, programs and practices.
Experience working in HR Shared Services for a multi-national company required.
Process improvement experience.
Experience with HR systems like Dayforce and strong knowledge of MS Office.
Experience using ServiceNow (or other case management software) preferred.
Excellent communication skills, ability to cooperate in a matrix organization and consumer-oriented attitude.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Analytical capability to analyze, interpret data and provide insight.
Experience managing equity compensation programs.
