Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) – Elk Grove Village, IL (Hybrid Schedule)
100,000-$110,000 Base + Bonus, Profit Sharing, and Full Benefits
We are a “people first” beverage distributor in the Chicago market that has served the community for over 70 years. Listening, planning, and executing is what makes us the preferred wholesale partner to over 55 suppliers and 3,000 retailers. The position will work with the Director of Human Resources and join a team of HR professionals supporting operational goals and longer-term strategic focus areas. The HRBP is responsible for partnering with the senior leadership to ensure a complete understanding of the overall business strategy and objectives and alignment with the HR strategy to provide best in class support. The HRBP will drive and assist with the implementation of initiatives, and participate in special projects as requested. The HRBP will also provide strategic partnership and guidance to leaders, allowing them to make informed overarching decisions in the areas of talent development, workforce planning, performance management, retention, and compensation, while focusing on key growth areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide HR guidance to support the overall mission and HR service delivery for a complex functional organization.
- Collaborate to anticipate business requirements and develop strategic plans to support the achievement of current and future objectives.
- Develop strong working relationships with all levels of leadership and employees, effectively address employee relations matters to include conflict resolution, guiding through performance coaching and counseling, implementing disciplinary actions, and diagnosing/resolving trends and systemic issues.
- Ensure effective alignment to achieve goals and organization results. Plan, communicate, execute, and support HR initiatives including talent development, career and leadership development, inclusion and diversity, training, performance management, salary planning, succession planning, training, etc.
- Develop and execute employee engagement and retention strategies.
- Anticipate HR related needs and recommend data-driven solutions to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Challenge and influence leadership on implications of business decisions, trends, and issues that impact the business.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of prior relevant experience as an HR Generalist or in multiple HR functional areas with foundational knowledge and experience in HR disciplines such as talent development, performance management, employee relations, staffing, compensation, and/or basic employment and labor laws.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work well independently by taking initiative and being resourceful to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong relationship building skills with ability to partner and coordinate with employees, leaders, colleagues, and peers at all levels with confidence.
- Strong project management skills with ability to think through critical tasks, set deadlines, and influence teams to ensure deadlines are met.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively reason through tasks and decisions.
- Strong business acumen, professional demeanor, and demonstrated ethical behavior.
- Must be a team-player and be willing to be hands-on with tactical duties.
