We are looking to add a Human Resources Business Partner to our team!  You will be handling both tactical and strategic work across a variety of areas. These span from providing regular guidance and data to management teams, assisting with challenging conversations and supporting team members and managers in performance management; to the more tactical side of helping to answer benefits questions and managing complex issues like FMLA. The HR Business Partner is driven to provide creative solutions for a wide variety of issues, working independently with guidance and support from the HR Manager and the broader HR organization.
You are a well-rounded generalist with a great understanding of HR best practices, policies, compliance, and laws. You've spent the time to study and pass the tests to demonstrate a body of knowledge, so we'd love it if you have your PHR and/or SHRM-CP. You are effective as an in-house health benefits expert, a mentor to our people managers, a listener who doesn't try to solve people's problems for them, and an advocate for our employees. Responsibilities
  • Act as a Business Partner for managers and supervisors providing counseling and support as necessary in dealing with employer/employee issues and employment policies and procedures. Work directly with managers and senior managers to resolve more complex issues.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit reorgs and workforce planning.
  • Coordinate and provide for appropriate employee development and training programs. Actively solicit managers and senior management input to determine development needs for the business.  Work directly with all managers and supervisors to ensure that the development requirements of the organization are met.
  • Participate in the development, establishment, and implementation of department goals, objectives, and systems that directly impact HR strategy and overall business plans for Tyler. Provide assistance to ensure that the HR strategy reflects the Tyler core values, mission and culture.
  • Partner directly and effectively with other members of the HR team to help drive appropriate HR initiatives for the division in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain current knowledge of changes in federal and state employment laws, rules, and regulations as well as labor law and immigration law. Advise management of changes in such laws as necessary. Update and distribute revised employment policies and procedures to ensure Company compliance with all current employment laws, rules, and regulations. Communicate with Legal Counsel as necessary to ensure compliance.
  • Provide management with compensation recommendations based on business needs, FLSA requirements and other state and federal laws.
  • Conduct training for managers on issues like FMLA and other topics.
  • Provide guidance and direction to leaders on performance management as needed.
  • Develop strong relationships with all business functions and determine Human Resources priorities consistent with business objectives.
  • Serve as a leader in driving positive organizational change. Support and foster and safe and engaging work environment for all employees.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years generalist experience with in depth knowledge of employee relations, labor law, talent management and learning/training in a corporate environment.
    • Experience within a large, matrix environment is ideal, preferably in the tech sector.
  • Strong consultative, mentoring, coaching and presentation skills. Sound business acumen and demonstrated ability to establish credibility, trust and partnership at all levels of the organization.
  • Creativity, innovation and the ability to think 'out-of-the-box' in problem solving, organizational diagnosis, and solution generation.
  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate, influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts and effectively coach both managers and employees.
  • High level of independence and initiative while working effectively as part of team.
  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP is highly desired.
