GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The HR Benefits Specialist is responsible for all aspects of medical benefits including but not limited to open enrollment, payment maintenance and auditing. Position also assists and is back-up for Payroll and HR Coordinator roles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits:
• Ensure newly eligible employees complete their medical enrollment.
• Assist with annual benefit open enrollment.
• Audit medical insurance payroll deductions.
• Audit BenefitBay payments to insurance carriers.
• Work with employees and vendors to resolve coverage issues.
Other:
• Write and distribute Employee Newsletter, quarterly.
• Assist with the Employee Handbook
• Any other duties as assigned.
This position will provide back-up support in the following areas:
• New hire on-boarding and ensure initial training is complete.
• Learning Management System (LMS).
• Payroll – up to 4 payrolls per month.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in Human Resources, 2 years or more.
• Knowledge in ADP – Workforce Now platform a plus
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Creative writing skills with an inquisitive nature.
• Superior oral and written communication skills required including the ability to professionally interact with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent written skill and knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, vocabulary, and spelling.
• Must exhibit organized, accurate and thorough work habits.
• Must be reliable, able to follow instructions, respond to directives and maintain confidentiality.
