At Command Post Technologies, Inc., we are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Coordinator. As the HR Coordinator, you will partner closely with the Director of Human Resources to provide essential administrative support and contribute to the efficient operation of HR functions. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth processes related to all stages of the employee life cycle and various HR initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of HR on all HR processes, supporting the organization's people strategy as our mission and key focus.
  • Occasionally support recruitment efforts, working closely with the recruiter, hiring managers and HR Director to support talent acquisition processes as needed.
  • Maintain the schedule and track delivery of our quarterly performance assessment process, assisting the HR Director with driving process improvements and communications with leaders.
  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as sending email correspondence about benefits enrollment, enrolling employees in elected benefit plans, and terminating benefit coverage
  • Liaise with benefits broker on benefits-related questions and trouble-shooting issues
  • Correspond with newly hired employees to facilitate onboarding processes and new hire benefit tasks.
  • Maintain electronic employee files in our HRIS, Paylocity. Upload employee documentation timely and accurately.
  • Partner with HR Director to facilitate portions of new hire orientation meetings, i.e., benefits overview, introduction to Paylocity, etc.
  • Own and maintain HR's section of the employee portal page, keeping documents and resources updated and facilitating access for employees
  • Assist HR Director in preparing regular company communication through monthly newsletters or other channels. Perform administrative duties, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, corresponding with support departments, planning office events, completing expense reports, etc.
  • Track employee trainings, provide summary of training completion, and escalate discrepancies to HR director as needed.
  • Develop a working knowledge of local, state, and national employment laws and regulations, ensuring organizational compliance and assisting on HR-related legal and regulatory matters.

Requirements
Required Education, Licensure, and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Human Resources coordinator/administrator experience
  • Experience working with employee benefits/benefit carriers
  • Administrative assistant experience may supplement a lack of Human Resources experience
  • Experience managing and developing processes
  • Demonstrated listening, probing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with employees about HR/Benefits topics
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, sensitivity, and discretion.

Desired Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years HR experience
  • 2+ years coordinator or administrator experience
  • Experience or knowledge of Federal Government Contractor practices/industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR system applications, such as Paylocity and Unanet.

Physical/Mental Job Requirements:
  • Location is in Suffolk, VA
  • Ability to carry and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Clear communication in small group settings.
  • Position requires sitting for extended periods, walking, standing, bending, and occasional use of fine motor skills, such as typing and using small hand tools.
  • Exposure to loud noises, frequent phone conversations, and a climate-controlled indoor environment.
  • Requires average to above-average visual acuity and hearing.
  • Availability to travel to other office locations as needed.
