POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides administrative support to Human Resources functions such as forms processing, correspondence, report generation, record keeping, data entry, file maintenance, and HRIS data entry. Functions as a resource for the organization. Ensures HR programs are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and program and policy provisions are followed. Performs other HR administrative duties as assigned.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
•High School Diploma/GED required
•Excellent customer service skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication required
•Bilingual: English/Spanish fluency required
•Must be able to multi-task, and work with minimal supervision
•Minimum of one (1) year office experience required.
•Prior HR experience preferred
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
•Requires reasoning ability, good independent judgment and a high degree of competency.
•Able to respond to general internal and external customer needs independently.
•Requires good communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work with frequent interruptions.
•Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must.
•Must have computer skills and the ability to learn HRIS; must be able to navigate time and attendance systems.
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
•Good punctuation, spelling, grammar, and attention to detail are required. Strong interpersonal skills essential.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
•Answers the telephone and assists customers and employees with any questions.
•Prepares and process new hire paperwork.
•Maintain employee files.
•Resolves first-level employee complaints, referring difficult or very complex complaints to the Human Resources Director.
•Researches and resolves all discrepancies associated with all processing efforts (i.e. new hires, transfers, contract personnel).
•Responsible to verify licensure, certification, registration and background checks before the employee is cleared to work.
•Acts as liaison with various levels of employees and fosters effective relationships with management.
•Responsible for requesting and delivering ID badges, as necessary.
•Responsible for ensuring that all I-9 forms are in compliance.
•Responsible for entering required information into the Office of the Attorney General website.
•Responsible to send all CNA renewals to the Texas Nurse Aide Registry.
•Responsible for entering required information into The Department of Homeland Security E-verify website within three (3) days of hire date.
•Other duties as assigned.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Provide excellent customer service to all DHR customers. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E.S program which outlines the Customer Service Principals including Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence through Knowledge and Safety & Social Conscience.
AGE SPECIFIC:
Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to his or her age.

B.Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C.Occupational Exposure:This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
