Description
The Human Resource Specialist will administer the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the administration of compensation and benefit plans.
- Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
- Schedule, administer, and execute new co-worker orientation and onboarding.
- Assist HR Manager and training department with training initiatives, including scheduling, conducting, coordinating, and ensuring compliance with training initiatives.
- Support co-workers in various HR-related topics such as leave of absence (LOA) and disability coordination. Work with payroll to accurately compensate our co-workers on LOA.
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies.
- Manage annual performance management process under the direction of HR Manager. Ensure compliance amongst management for both quarterly and annual performance.
- Assist Talent Acquisition Specialist in gathering and analyzing data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.
- Maintain co-worker files and records in electronic and paper form.
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, advocating for the proper use of perks and benefits, and assisting in organizing team-building activities.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Performs other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred).
- At least two years of distributing industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SHRM-CP experience is a plus.
