Elim Wellspring, a 5-star rated senior care campus, is hiring an experienced Human Resource Professional as an Onboarding and Retention Specialist to join our team. In this position, you will serve as a dedicated campus resource to ensure new employees are supported throughout the hiring process (Onboarding and orientation), initiate and deploy program tools, disseminate data to team members, assist in determining why employees are leaving (retention and turnover), and build relationships and initiatives to support employee retention.
The Onboarding and Retention Specialist will deploy a campus action plan and ensure program initiatives and changes become integrated for on-going deployment in the organization. This position will work within the Empira collaborative by sharing education, experiences, and best practices as they deploy the program within their respective organizations. Empira is an association dedicated to implementing best practices in care centers.
This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position.
Onboarding and Retention Specialist responsibilities:
- Gather data by conducting employee surveys and stay interviews; leverage results to conduct supervisor training and create development programs for staff.
- Seek, build and leverage partnerships and relationships, both internal and external, in order to further personal, team and organizational goals
- Serve as an employee ambassador for staff to ask questions and provide feedback and ensure the onboarding process is welcoming, thorough and incorporates the company culture
- Analyze scheduling for models that better align with today’s workforce’s needs
- Develop innovative opportunities for advancement and career paths for workers and assist in building career pathways for team members, offering a clear picture of growth and development
- Develop effective staff meeting schedules, agendas and tools for those leading meetings
- Revamp the interview process, selection criteria and applicant communication plan to further improve efficiency in matching candidates with core job requirements, including determining a plan to identify any skills gaps and how those might be closed
- Assist in the development and/or deployment of employee mentoring program
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate all stakeholders; may travel up to 10% for program needs
Onboarding and Retention Specialist requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Communication or Social Worker is preferred or similar experience
- Willingness to promote change through education
- Project management experience preferred (or willingness to learn)
- Training and leadership coaching skills preferred (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to learn how to navigate and leverage data from HR software platform
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience in hiring, supervising, and/or onboarding a plus
