Job description

This individual will be primarily working in interventional and cardiac catheterization x-ray equipment. Experience in angiography modality favored with preferred experience with Siemens and Philips equipment. 

Ensures that medical imaging equipment is repaired in a timely manner, works reliably, is safe to operate and functions properly. Consistently demonstrates a mastery of the skills necessary to perform preventive maintenance, quality assurance testing, equipment calibrations, installations, and corrective maintenance on a variety of imaging equipment. The individual will be required to support several technologies types including MRI, CT, PET, ultrasound, general and interventional X-ray, mammography, nuclear imaging, and linear accelerators. Will provide input to the buyers on service related topics and coordinate with project managers, facilities projects, and the vendor to ensure the equipment is installed properly for optimum performance. The individual will configure equipment to work properly on the hospital network, assure equipment firewalls, antivirus, and operating system software are properly configured, and work to ensure data security policies and procedures are being taken into consideration. The individual must have advanced analytical skills and be able to solve complex technical issues in a timely manner. Must be able to analyze electronic and electrical circuits, interpret error logs and formulate a complex repair plan while under pressure to get equipment working quickly. During corrective and preventative maintenance the individual will run software and hardware diagnostics, take measurements, make adjustments, and perform functional checks. A person in this position must be able to use oscilloscopes, analyzers, multi-meters, dosimeters, and other types of test equipment during the maintenance process, and document results and activities appropriately per policies and procedures. Stored energy, high voltage and ionizing radiation are risks the technician must contend with when working on equipment. A comprehensive understanding of the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) policies and procedures and regulatory agency's guidelines is required. On-call and overtime is often required as well as travel to other Mayo Clinic sites. Technician must present a professional image and use excellent communication skills when dealing with staff, contractors, and vendors. This position will typically have more than five years of proven successful service of a diverse spectrum of highly advanced medical equipment.
