Job description

As our Imaging Radiology Assistant IV Tech at Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center, you will help our patients receive the best possible care and treatment so they can recover quickly and comfortably.

Every day, you will be responsible for assisting the Radiology Technologists in performing diagnostic imaging procedures, preparing patients for exams, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly. You will also be expected to maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of radiology procedures and equipment, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Assists technologist in getting the patient into the scan room and positioned on the scan table.
  • Starts IV for IV contrast injection under the direction of the technologist.
  • Ensures correct identity of patient before escorting them to the waiting room or modality.

Minimum

 

  • Previous experience performing IV starts OR successful completion of an approved intravenous (IV) access training program OR current certification as an EMT-Paramedic OR successful completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic program within the last two years
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider
  • Within six months of hire complete: Restraint Training completion of Safe Patient Handling program completion of Oxygen Training program completion of Point of Care Renal Screening testing and complete Medical Terminology Course
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service 
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows 

Preferred

 

  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred
