Provide direct services, technical assistance, and professional development in the area of behavior/classroom management to support school staff and students in general education settings through the HRS framework. Emphasis will be to provide support to campuses served through implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions Support (PBIS)/Texas Behavior Support Initiative (TBSI) and behavior Response to Intervention (RtI). Duties will also include facilitating training, PLCs, data collection and reporting. Provide direct services, technical assistance, and professional development in the areas such as: behavior, classroom management, crisis management, crisis prevention and response.
Education/Certification
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field required
Master's degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certification required
School Counseling experience preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to build relationships, establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve program goals
Ability to develop and deliver training and technical assistance for educators and students
Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners face-to-face and virtually
Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
Knowledge of a variety of teaching methods and instructional techniques required
Knowledge of research-based strategies and resources to address behavior
Knowledge of RtI strategies and implementation required
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience Required
Three years of classroom teaching experience and/or experience as a mental health provider preferred
All-level experience preferred
Professional development experience preferred
Major Responsibilities
1. Assist in identifying the needs of all assigned campuses, with an emphasis on targeted/high priority campuses using all data resources.
2. Assist school personnel in the implementation of initiatives related to behavior by educating personnel in best-practice based programs and research-based practices.
3. Assist with campuses in RtI implementation, with an emphasis on behavior through the HRS framework.
4. Build relationships with district personnel and education stakeholders through onsite visits and a variety of communication methods.
5. Coordinate with other related agencies in delivery of appropriate services to students with behaviors.
6. Design and produce professional development modules and related materials.
7. Determine campus needs through classroom visitations, interviews, and contacts with campus personnel and other needs assessment methods.
8. Develop, conduct, and/or coordinate professional development and related materials designed to impact school personnel in the areas of behavior, discipline management, classroom management, crisis management, crisis prevention and response, and effective teaching practices.
9. Provide on-site or remote technical assistance to LEA personnel in development and implementation of appropriate educational intervention for students exhibiting behaviors.
10. Provide support and technical assistance and follow-up services to campuses in an effort to improve classroom management and student behavior that is designed to impact student performance across all student groups.
11. Provide professional development and technical assistance through face-to-face and/or remote technology, as necessary.
Minor Responsibilities
1. Maintain appropriate records and correspondence.
2. Assist in the evaluation of program effectiveness.
3. Coordinate with other ESC Departments/Services.
4. Assist with any assigned tasks deemed necessary for the function of the ESC or assistance to clients.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Environment: Frequently work prolonged or irregular hours; weekly travel and occasional statewide travel, work location and hours subject to change due to requirements of flexibility in the work schedule
