Overview
Knowledge Services is actively seeking an HR Benefits and Compensation Manager in Indianapolis, IN. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity and has a hybrid work schedule of only 3-days onsite per week!
Responsibilities
HR Benefits and Compensation Manager Responsibilities:
• Responsible is responsible for oversight of compensation and benefits (Total Rewards) programs.
• Ensures the compliance with HR policies, procedures, reporting and reporting requirements in a multi-state employer setting and supports employee wellness initiatives.
• Oversee the development of the People Analytics function, ensure data integrity, manage HR data integration, utilize data analysis and maintain up-to- date knowledge of trends to inform decision-making.
Benefits & Compensation
• Manage health and welfare plan execution in conjunction with benefits broker, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, COBRA, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and workers compensation. Manage relationships with benefits vendors and carriers, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations, to ensure the highest level of service to employees.
• Partner with the Director of Human Resources & Compliance and external vendors/partners, to review, analyze and monitor the benefits market to determine employee needs, identify trends, stay updated on regulations, and develop competitive programs and services that align with the organization's strategic goals.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain the Center's compensation program in accordance with the Center's Compensation Philosophy, including the development of standard operating procedures. Partner with the Director of Human Resources & Compliance and Manager, OD & Recruitment on compensation program design, analysis, and implementation. Ensure benchmark analysis and salary surveys are conducted to obtain external market data.
• Support the Director of Human Resources & Compliance with the Center's Employee Incentive Program administration, preparation of materials for Compensation Committee meetings, and other compensation-related reports and determinations.
• Create and deliver clear and informative materials to educate employees about their benefits options, including Open Enrollment. Provide support to HR Generalists when responding to employees with benefits-related inquiries or concerns, assisting to resolve issues promptly to enhance employee satisfaction.
• Evaluate and develop employee wellness and engagement programs aimed to enhance employee wellbeing, satisfaction, and retention.
• Serve as primary HR contact for the 401(k) plan administrator and auditor, ensuring accurate submission of employee and employer contributions, and compliance with ERISA reporting requirements, and other mandated testing and reporting.
• Track and analyze compensation variances and audit salary changes, including new hire offer terms, merit increases, promotions, bonuses, etc. Serve as a liaison between Human Resources and Finance to ensure the accuracy and completeness of employee HRIS records.
• Regularly assess processes and procedures, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and policies related to benefits, compensation and wellness.
HRIS and other HR-systems
• Quality review of data housed in ADP and Workday including the performance of regular data audits and resolving any data integrity issues.
• Create and maintain quarterly and annual HR dashboard using qualitative and quantitative data to guide business decisions.
• Perform system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of HR system(s) upgrades. Document process and results.
Compliance Data & Governance
• Maintain annual compliance calendar and support HR team to meet reporting requirements.
• Administer government reporting, such as EEO-1, PCORI, Form 5500, OSHA-300.
• Recommend and implement best practices, regularly review, and update the Employee Handbook and related policies to maintain compliance.
Qualifications
HR Benefits and Compensation Manager Requirements:
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years of related HR experience with specific focus on compensation and benefits; healthcare experience, preferred.
• CCP, CEBS, or equivalent designation, preferred.
• Knowledge of employee Benefits and applicable laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow or Workday preferred.
• Knowledge of appropriate analysis and application of competitive salary surveys.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of human resources software applications.
• Advanced Excel skills including proficiency in creating complex models, data analysis, and reporting in addition to proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint.
• Strong ability to design, implement, and measure the impact of employee engagement initiatives
• Project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, meet stringent deadlines, and balance multiple projects simultaneously
• Current knowledge of evolving payroll, benefits, and HR regulatory landscape
• Skill in presenting to both executive and employee audiences.
• Skill in problem solving and critical thinking.
• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, managers, and external vendors, including conflict resolution.
• Demonstrate strong ethics, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Attention to detail with a numbers-oriented, analytical mindset.
• Capability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively to team collaboration
• Ability to establish/maintain effective relationships with staff at all levels.
• Ability to provide guidance to HR Generalist colleagues and serve as back up to the HR Director.
• Ability to project positive and professional image.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information in a professional manner.
• Strong ability to change and adapt in a high-paced environment.
