Job Summary:
The Human Resource and Labor Relations Specialist will be tasked with gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records. This position may coordinate training activities, performance reviews, hiring activities, and other HR-related tasks. This role must be sensitive to the needs of employees and utilize policies, guidelines, and employment laws appropriately - for the good of all - not punitively.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Handles routine human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.
Assists with grievances - tracks timelines and responses. Works with the managers to ensure timelines are met.
Assists managers and supervisors with employee schedules and tracks attendance. Notifies supervisors of attendance issues and assists with preparing discipline documentation.
Serves as the initial contact and liaison for the assessment of employee complaints. Informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.
Assists with recordkeeping related to training, and performance reviews.
Handles tasks associated with recruiting.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, Labor Relations, and human resources.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labor Relations, or a related field required.
- At least three years of professional human resource administration required with experience in employee and Labor Relations.
