Housing Program Assistant

HVCS a Division of Cornerstone Family Healthcare is actively recruiting for a Housing Program Assistant to join our growing team in Newburgh, NY.

RATE OF PAY/SALARY: $15.00 per hour (7 hours a week)

WORK LOCATION(S): Newburgh, NY

• Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Program Assistant works in collaboration with the Ryan White Part B Housing Program Team in achieving program goals and providing support to our clients. The Housing Program Assistant will provide a set of services to our clients that enable them to empower themselves and develop effective strategies for maintaining their housing and living healthy lives.
• Incorporate best practices regarding confidentiality into all job duties and communications in accordance with Article 27-F, HVCS policies and procedures and other applicable regulations.
• Attend weekly case disposition meetings and monthly team meetings.
• Through one-on-one interactions, provide support and advocacy to clients in need of housing services (includes weekly check ins, reminder phone calls, arranging transportation, appointment accompaniment).
• Act as a unique avenue for communication with program participants with regular check-ins.
• Complete data entry and filing activities as assigned.
• Ensure client charts meet program standards.
• Participate in training and program development activities.
• Participate in department and agency meetings and regularly scheduled supervision sessions
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED
• Two years of experience providing administrative support services within an organization
• Well organized, excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to manage time, prioritize and multitask
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel required;
• Familiarity with non-profit and/or human service agency operation, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS issues
• Ability to work independently.
