PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide appropriate low-barrier, survivor centered, trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and accessible housing assessments, referrals, resources, case management and supportive services for program participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Maintain the confidentiality of participants
· Provide housing advocacy, crisis intervention, trauma-informed supportive services, case management, safety planning, and information and referral
· Provide and arrange emergency and essential transportation
· Determine program eligibility; conduct intakes and assessments; enter data; document service provision; and maintain case notes
· Design and implement housing opportunity education and supportive groups
· Identify program participants’ strengths and weaknesses and assess self-sufficiency barriers
· Assist participants develop individualized action plans utilizing matrixes
· Build and maintain networks with local housing providers and support systems for participants
· Provide back-up and additional support to other staff as part of a team approach
· Assist with shelter operations and assist with cleaning and maintenance of the facility when needed
· Monitor housing program operations; assist with cleaning and maintenance of units when needed
· Provide services in compliance with all funding contracts, including data and report preparation
· Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, homelessness, and child abuse
· Knowledge of case management, crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques
· Skills in written documentation and interpersonal communication
· Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment
· Ability to remain calm, use sound judgement, and determine specific action under pressure
· Must hold a valid Indiana driver’s license
· Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally
