The Role:
This role is responsible for performing a variety of routine task of property maintenance. Ensures that property is maintained in a safe and clean condition. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to minor repairs. Operates a variety of maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment; and performs related work as required. Work is reviewed upon completion for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements. Provides and is responsible for creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere for guests by making sure all areas are cleaned and maintained
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and cleaning all walkway and common areas
- Rake sand on main beach and cabanas
- Checking and cleaning all trash cans on Descanso beach property
- Maintaining and cleaning in/around planter boxes
- Ensure all lights are clean and functioning
- Opening, Closing and weekly Checklists
- Stock operational supplies as needed
- Set-up and tear down of AV equipment
- Paint touch ups
- Sand Cleaning
- Sanitization
- Carrying out other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor
- Awareness of safety precautions
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as a team member
- Excellent customer service skills for interaction with guests on a consistent basis
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School/GED diploma
- Previous experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment and or warehouse environment preferred
- Operational characteristics of a variety of house tools and equipment.
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Principles and practices of record-keeping.
- Principles and practices for providing high level of customer service.
- Safely and effectively use, operate, and maintain equipment and tools.
- Perform heavy manual labor.
- Understand, interpret, and apply all pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Independently organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.
- Maintain records and files on work performed.
- Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to follow directions, efficiently coordinate functions with warehouse and delivery team to meet daily deadlines
- Motivation to contribute to the team and overall goals of the department
- Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and exert well-placed mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to bend, squat and lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communication with guests, supervisors and other employees. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Job Expectations regarding Scheduling:
This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consists of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekend shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.
