Houseperson

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a houseperson with excellent people skills who is motivated and attentive to provide our guests with a memorable experience at our hotel. We need a multi-talented individual who can perform a variety of tasks. Responsibilities include keeping hotel public areas clean such as hallways, meeting rooms, and lobbies. You will also make deliveries to guest rooms for guest-requested items such as amenities, rollaway beds, cribs, bedding, and completing any special projects as directed by housekeeping managers. Our ideal candidate has one or more years of previous experience in a houseperson or housekeeping role, and a strong commitment to excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards, and correct maintenance and use of equipment.
• Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, hallways, and lounges.
• Assist Room Attendants with stripping vacant rooms including soiled linen and trash as needed at the discretion of management and/or supervisor.
• Ensure the highest level of customer service by anticipating and responding quickly to guests' requests.
• Deliver linen and supplies to guest floors and remove dirty linen.
• Shampoo hallways, rooms, and public areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Report any maintenance issues to management and/or supervisor.
• Sweep and wash floors, vacuum carpet, wash walls, dust furniture and fixtures.
• Make up and deliver roll-a-way beds. Move furniture, supplies, and equipment.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel data.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

Qualification Standards:

• High school graduate or equivalent education preferred.
• 1 to 2 years previous experience in a similar position in a luxury hotel preferred.
• Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, the Houseperson may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel, including but not limited to weekends and holidays

Wage Rate: $28.84 per hour
