Summary: Cleans and services hotel areas to ensure a clean, comfortable, safe and attractive environment for all guests. Follows all operating procedures, safety regulations, and sanitation practices involving bio-hazardous material clean up and abides by Stratosphere policy and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains clean hotel and casino interiors
- Removes linens from linen chutes and replaces hampers
- Empties and cleans indoor trash receptacles and properly disposes of trash
- Removes dust and stains from high areas
- Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, polishes, mops, strips and buffs high and low areas in elevators as needed or as instructed by supervisor
- Utilizes proper equipment to clean and maintain hard floors and carpeting
- Removes bio-hazardous items in accordance with OSHA standards and according to the training provided by the company
- Performs other porter duties, fills chemical bottles and prepares equipment as needed
- Cleans, stores and maintains all UTILITY PORTER equipment as instructed by manufacturer
- Handles all equipment in a safe and responsible manner and reports malfunctions or equipment damage immediately to the supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One to three months of related experience or training in public area cleaning preferred
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide

Physical Requirements - Regularly walk, stand or stoop, and ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like
- Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
- Walk, stand, crouch, or run on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces
- Ability to distinguish between shades of color
- Ability to communicate via radios
- Vision, speech and hearing (critical)
- Ability to withstand regular exposure to cigarette smoke, chemicals, cleansers and solvents
- Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment
