The primary responsibilities of the Housekeeping Supervisor II involves the supervision of several crews of Housekeeper positions engaged in housekeeping and minor maintenance activities within an assigned area of a State facility. Work involves planning, scheduling and assigning work, determining and meeting training needs of staff, and determining
labor or material needs for work assignments. Duties may include the responsibility for equipment upkeep and for maintaining a sufficient inventory of supplies. Duties involve planning a steady workflow and making suggestions relative to maintaining standards of cleanliness and quantity of production. Initiative is utilized in maintaining quality standards in dealing with non-routine cleaning. Work may be performed under administrative supervision.
Additional duties may include but are not limited to:
Office Areas:
Sweep, mop, spot clean and vacuum carpets. Pick up trash daily and clean receptacles as needed. Dust furniture with a cloth treated with an appropriate dust control chemicals. Spot clean walls, doors and electrical switch covers.
Miscellaneous Duties:
Cleans Windows when assigned, inside and out, more often as conditions require. Always keeps on had the cleaning supplies and paper products for the assigned area. Attends training classes, including new employee orientation and other required training. Reports to supervisor immediately any safety or sanitation hazards. Assists in other support service areas as needed.

JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 44 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

This position is Monday through Friday from 6:00am - 2:30pm
with occasional weekends and holidays.

Qualified applicants must documenton the application that they possess ALL of the following:

  • Education and/or experience in housekeeping work
  • Knowledge of products and equipment used in a housekeeping operation.
  • Ability to supervise employees in housekeeping functions.

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND
