Canidate must be able to perform all housekeeping duties necessary and requested, and to maintain a high quality of cleanliness throughout the community both inside and out.

Job Functions:

• Sufficient communication and language skills to enable performance of duties and interact with residents and co-workers.
• To perform daily housekeeping tasks assigned effectively and safely, including but not limited to: dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, making beds, windows, and doing laundry.
• Cleaning public areas as well as Residents apartments as assigned or requested.
• Assist with mobility of Residents within the community.
• Participate in trainings or in-services as requested or required.
• Ability to stay on task, work quickly and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform fire and emergency drills, evacuations and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Interpersonal Contacts:

Contacts are both inside and outside the organization. Internal contacts include management, co-workers, volunteers and residents. External contacts include residents’ families, and inspectors.

Specific Skills:

· Excellent interpersonal skills, cooperation with management and co-workers, ability to be a positive productive team member

· Ability to communicate English, effectively verbally and in writing in order to communicate with Residents and keep accurate written records as needed

· Skills in basic reading for cautions, labels and directions and cleaning records

· Knowledge of principles and practices of housekeeping

· Ability to work around Senior Citizens in a pleasant helpful manner

· Skill and experience in the use of various housekeeping tools, chemicals and equipment

· Ability to remain poised in emergency situations

· Ability to be organized, set and meet deadlines

· Ability to know and follow all policies, practices and procedures of the Organization

· Ability to be dependable and reliable with attendance and punctuality

· Ability to recognize and keep private, protected, employee or Resident information confidential

Education and or Experience:

· Sufficient knowledge or experience to allow for the performance of duties effectively.

· One year or more of prior industry experience preferred

• Annual OSHA Training (post employment)

Special Equipment:

• Vacuums, Shampooers, Carpet spotter
• Washers and Dryers
• Irons
• Foot Stools

Job Conditions:

· This job may require hours that exceed 40 per week and a flexibility of hours (i.e., weekends, evenings, and substituting for absent co-workers, change of normal shift)

· Work may expose incumbent to hazardous chemicals, dust or pollen

· Some of the work requires the use of PPE, (personal protective equipment, such as masks, aprons, goggles, and gloves)

Physical Demands:

· Work may be performed for sustained periods of time with bending, reaching, stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, foot stools or ladders

· Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or other wise move objects weighing more than 50 lbs.

· Ability to communicate with various contacts via radios/pagers etc. as needed

· Ability to work under pressure and always in a professional manner

· Ability to use housekeeping equipment or work with community or residents’ items requiring high degree of dexterity, (i.e. clean glass chandelier globes, fine collectibles belonging to residents)

Must be able to pass background check.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $15.50 - $16.70 per hour

Experience:

• Custodial experience: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)

Work Location: In person

Pay: $15.50 - $16.70 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
