We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our growing team.
Job Description:
Housekeepers are responsible for managing and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our short-term rental properties, primarily operating on platforms such as Airbnb and VRBO. This position requires an individual who is reliable, flexible, and possesses excellent time management and communication skills. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, and a commitment to exceptional service to our guests and property owners. We are looking for someone who can grow into a full-time role as not only a housekeeper but also as a manager of the cleaning staff and back-of-house coordination such as scheduling, inventory, supply runs, quality control, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and prepare properties for guest arrival, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and functionality.
- Perform cleaning tasks, including but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Perform property "turnovers" between guest stays, including thorough cleaning, restocking supplies, and ensuring all amenities are in working order.
- Perform by-annual “deep cleaning” for properties.
- Provide basic maintenance and janitorial services, such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and trash removal.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and materials, and communicate with management when supplies need to be replenished at a property.
- Adhere to company guidelines, safety protocols, and checklists for consistent quality.
- Report any property damage or maintenance issues to management promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address guest inquiries or concerns.
- Work closely with the property management team to ensure seamless communication and guest satisfaction.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- Perform quality control inspections and communicate with other cleaners on quality of turnovers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in short term rental or hotel management, cleaning, or janitorial work is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Smartphone and ability to work from app-based technology.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
- Weekend availability a must.
