Housekeeper

Job Description:

The State of Illinois, Office of the Governor is seeking an experienced, reliable, detail oriented, and private individual seeking full-time employment as a housekeeper. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail oriented, self-motivated, and is comfortable working alone and with others.

Job Responsibilities:

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Thoroughly clean and maintain the entire building, including foyers, kitchens, bedrooms, parlors, offices, basement, and attic spaces.
• Ensure all areas including outdoor entrances to the building is maintained, cleaned, and organized according to ADA requirements.
• Diligent care of all clothing, perform regular laundry, ironing, and closet organization.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash and recycling items.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for entertaining or events including table setting and beverage station setup.
• Professional demeanor and presence.
• Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• Unquestionable ethics and integrity. Demonstrates the ability to protect privacy and maintain discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.

Education and Experience:

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
• At least 5 years of housekeeping experience required.
• At least 2 years of fine dining or catering experience (preferred).

Conditions of Employment:

• Requires possession of a valid driver’s license and required auto insurance.
• Requires the ability to pass a background check.
• Requires the ability to perform heavy physical work, lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Requires the ability to occasionally ascend/descend a ladder.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
