This position will be supervising the staff and residents of a single Arc House located in the Oneida county area: Barneveld, Clinton, Oriskany Falls, Sauquoit, Rome, Utica while reporting directly to the Residential Department. The House Manager is responsible for the health and safety of the people we support, effective and efficient physical and social operation of the residence, and developing positive relationships with staff, neighbors, local businesses, and other service providers. May be needed to assist with other houses when requested by the department.
Pay Rate
- The salary is $19.00/hour.
- With a sign on bonus of $1,000 paid within your first year of employment.
Schedule/Hours
- On-Call with a flexible schedule- Open Availability is required.
Qualifications
- Valid NYS Driver's License (Required)
- Must have a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED and three to five years of experience working with the developmentally disabled. (OR)
- Associates degree in Human Services with one to two years of experience working with the developmentally disabled.
- One year of management experience working in a residential setting or specialized training.
Responsibilities
- Monitor each person's social, medical, and financial well-being and report all concerns to the Assistant Director. Oversee the arrangements of medical appointments with input from the RN.
- Direct supervision of staff including facilitating and providing on-site orientation for all new hires as well as ongoing training of all staff, approving time-off requests, securing coverage to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
- Provide oversight and guidance to the people we support with completing household tasks such as laundry, menu preparation, shopping, cooking, minor maintenance of the house and grounds.
- Administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed by physician when necessary. Assure that everyone's dietary and nutritional plan is followed.
- Responsible for keeping budgets as assigned, i.e., household, grocery, petty cash.
- Responsible for the individuals' files, ensuring required documentation is within the file and up to date. Ensure the back files are up to date and organized for the people we support and the household files.
- Assures that evacuation and fire safety issues are addressed within the OPWDD guidelines, including assessment of evacuation capability of individuals. Establish a fire-drill schedule, participate in drills, and oversee the execution and follow-up recommendations of all fire drills performed in the home.
- Lead weekly staff meetings to evaluate allowable and provided services, behavioral guidelines, and medical issues relative to each individual. Review incident reports and recommendations made by the committee. Works closely with nursing personnel to establish and maintain health services.
