Hotel Security

The Embassy Suites by Hilton, located near the Charlotte Airport, has an open full-time Security position. This is an overnight position and weekends are required.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To identify and report incidents in the hotel and surrounding property as needed. The Security associate will tour the interior and exterior grounds of the hotel to identify any irregularities, interact and provide service to hotel guests, and enforce hotel policies as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all hotel guests, visitors, and employees.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Enforce all hotel policies while remaining calm and respectful towards guests.
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards.
• Immediately respond to emergencies, providing necessary assistance to guests and employees.
• Protect the hotels assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
• Follow procedures for various initiatives including fire prevention, property patrol, guest incidents, and accident investigations.
• File completed reports of all shift activity.
• Occasionally assist in non-security related functions as determined by the Manager on Duty.

REQUIREMENTS

• 21+ years of age.
• Valid Drivers license.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of following complex instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
• Previous security work experience is desired, but not required.

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work indoors and outdoors. To perform the job successfully, the candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to be able to assist hotel employees and guests. This position often requires long periods of standing and walking as well as frequent reaching and kneeling, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting and moving objects 50 lbs or more. The Security Officer must be able to quickly maneuver to any location in the hotel. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
