This is a Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor position with a small company managed by a cohesive team of professionals that is looking to increase our capability. This position earns a competitive wage of $23.00 - $26.00/hour, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOTEL HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
The Housekeeping Supervisor leads the housekeeping operations by developing and leading a team to provide exceptional services, is open to learning and leading by example, responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team, as well as being there to support the team both personally and professionally.
Role Accountabilities & Expectations:
- Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and brand goals.
- Assist with oversight of the housekeeping operations and lead team to achieve high standards of cleanliness in all areas of the hotel.
- Monitor overall cleanliness and conditions of hotel and generate maintenance requests on an ongoing basis.
- Develop and mentor a team.
- Ensure proper training materials are in place and used in the department.
- Monitor inventory of room products to include but not limited to, linen, cleaning supplies and guest amenities.
- Partner with the Front Desk team as well as monitor available inventory.
- Lead by example to ensure all guest interactions are handled in a professional manner.
- Inspect all areas of the hotel for cleanliness and assign deep cleaning projects as necessary.
- Work closely with the Maintenance and Front Desk teams to communicate and coordinate the day.
- Follow emergency procedures to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel, guests, staff and company assets.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
- High school degree or GED preferred.
- Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in leading a housekeeping team in a service focused hotel or environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Excellent reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and experience with PMS systems.
- Able to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, good judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Able to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
- Requires flexibility with scheduling on all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must comply with drug free workplace policies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA)
- Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking and reaching.
- Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
- Must be able to carry loads greater than 20 pounds and exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
- Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
