Hot Plant Oiler – Job Description
Functional Summary
Reporting to the Hot Plant Foreman, the Hot Plant Oiler is responsible for completing the daily servicing and maintenance requirements of the Hot Plant. This position requires extenxicve traveling for extended periods of time, to perform duties at various locations.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Hot Plant Oiler include, but are not limited to:
Operations
- Responsible for performing maintenance and greasing of all Hot Plant equipment.
- Shoveling and operation of skid steer is required to remove built up material around conveyors
- Ensure a tidy job-site is maintained, including the job van, tools, and equipment
- Identifying mechanical failures and future preventive maintenance needs
- Understanding and following directions from supervisors
- Undertaking other construction related duties as required, such as assisting other employees working in the gravel pit or on the Hot Plant.
Safety, Teamwork & Compliance
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety policies and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings and inspections.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the well being of others.
- Understand and comply with Company policies and procedures
- Promote a team approach and maintain an open and respectful approach to communication with all employees.
- Wear appropriate protective equipment: steel toed boots, hard hats, ear and eye protection
Requirements/Experience
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to provide yourself lodging (camper/motel room etc)
- Strong work ethic
- Prior mechanical experience preferred, but not necessary as on the job training will be provided
- No High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, but preferred
- Valid driver’s license and good MVR
- Shifts are typically 10-14 hours, but work schedule is weather dependent, so flexibility is required
- A willingness to work overtime, as required.

- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and cold, and exposure to dust and asphalt
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Compensation offered with this role will be based on work experience and capability
