Host/Hostess

Downriggers is seeking a friendly and outgoing individual to join our team as a Host/Hostess. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere. If you have a passion for hospitality and enjoy working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
- Greet guests with a warm and friendly smile upon arrival
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Assist with seating arrangements to ensure efficient use of dining space
- Manage the waitlist and estimate wait times accurately
- Answer phone calls and assist with reservations or inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Host/Hostess station
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations

- Assist other team members
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations

Qualifications:

- Must be 18 or older.

- We are looking for candidates that have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, self motivated and have good attention to detail.

- Great attendance and punctuality are essential.

- Open availability and reliable transportation is necessary.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Excellent phone etiquette and ability to handle high call volumes
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management
- Knowledge of food service industry standards and practices is a plus but not required
