We are looking to add some new members to our team! We are currently accepting applications for a weekend host to bring their talents to Pajarito in Saint Paul, MN. We're seeking applicants with a positive attitude, a desire to learn and a commitment to exceptional service. We are currently looking to fill a host role with a minimum of three shifts per week, with crosstraining as a server. Once trained, you'll have the opportunity to pick up serving shifts when available.
The host is often the first impression guests will encounter, and is responsible for greeting guests warmly and genuinely upon arrival to our restaurant. You will provide information and guidance so the guest feels welcomed and understands the space and atmosphere. As a wait assist, you'll support servers and restaurant staff by maintaining cleanliness, running food and assisting with various tasks in the dining room throughout service.
Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Greet guests in a genuine manner and smile upon eye contact.
- Have fun; be charismatic and upbeat. Be professional, observant and intuitive of the guests’ needs.
- Memorization of the floor charts, seating numbers and store layout.
- Have pride in your position and help create an atmosphere you are proud of.
- Be knowledgeable of the food menu and have an understanding of the beverage program.
- Answer the telephone promptly and take to go orders, answer questions and direct phone calls to management if necessary.
- Be confident in managing the seating structure, seating guests efficiently and in an organized fashion.
- Keep washrooms stocked and cleaned throughout shift.
- Observe guest behavior and step in to assist with table service at appropriate times throughout visit.
- Use positive communication skills at every opportunity.
- Thank guests upon departure and directs all customer feedback to the Floor Manager.
- Clean, stock and maintain workstation throughout shift.
- Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and have the ability to lift heavy bus tubs and trays as needed.
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.50 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
