About Us
Chez Ma Tante is a Greenpoint neighborhood bistro named after the storied Montreal Hot Dog shack. Our food can only be described as European, and is simple and delicious. We strive to deliver an experience that is focused on the enjoyment of food, drink and good company. The space features white-washed brick walls and an uncluttered bar. Cocktails are classic. The wine list is well-edited and focused on value, and the service is warm.
About The Position:
We are committed to ensuring our guests have a warm, engaged experience with our staff and this starts at the front door. Chez Ma Tante hosts must have strong guest relation skills and the ability to inform guests of their wait time, monitor the wait list and enter guests into our reservation system. Experience operating OpenTable or Resy is a plus.
Requirements:
- Brunch, night, & weekend availability
- Clean, tidy appearance
- The ability and willingness to stand for the entire duration of your shift, up to 8 hours
Duties include:
- Greeting and seating guests
- Answering the phone and speaking clearly to guests on our availability, policies, menus and facts about the restaurant
- Communicating with servers and managers about any noticed customer needs
- Menu updating and printing
- Flexibility regarding the weekly schedule when necessary
- Assertive teamwork – a readiness and desire to assist co-workers as needed
