We are a medium sized company with a family atmosphere.An Internal Medical Group has an opportunity for Advanced Practive Registered Nurse (APRN) or a Pysician Assistant (PA) to work as a Hospitalist on weekends in Wallingford. This position represents PACT, LLC in hospital settings.
The incumbent will refer patients to PACT, LLC multi-specialty medical services and providers. Essential Functions Refer patients to PACT, LLC medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate. Direct, coordinate, or supervise the patient care activities of nursing or support staff.
Perform and document admissions and medical discharges. Write patient discharge summaries and send them to Primary Care physicians. Direct the medical care of short stay or specialty inpatient units.
Collect, order, and interpret laboratory data and diagnostic studies. Order therapies such as occupational, speech, and physical therapy, and psychological counseling. Obtain comprehensive health histories and perform complete physical examinations, develop differential diagnoses, develop and implement plans of care, evaluate and document client's response to plan of care.
Provide client and/or family education. Organize referrals and/or consultations when appropriate. Will promote cost effective delivery of care.
Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluations, diagnosis and treatments in area of expertise. Knowledge in medical claim billing preferred. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
Understanding of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosage and instruct patients in correct usage. EHR documentation as it pertains to patients and populations of patients. Education and Experience APRN or PA with 3 to 5 years of direct patient experience.
CT License, Board certification, Federal DEA and Connecticut Controlled Substance
