JOB OPPORTUNITY: Hospitalist Physician
Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, Inc. seeks three full-time Hospitalist Physicians to: accept admission of adult patients to St. Vincent's Medical Center (“SVMC”) in accordance with patient acceptance policy; meet needs (health care, communication, other as appropriate) of patients and their families in timely manner; engage in consultation with and care for inpatients admitted to or being consulted on by Hospital Medicine services; deliver documentation in the written and electronic record, consistent with employer's clinical documentation and quality metric programs; help to develop, modify, maintain and adhere to evidenced-based best practice guidelines for patient care; assure effective communication and transition of patients and optimize quality of patient care by working with emergency department physicians and other specialty services to attain appropriate services and assure consultation to and from other specialty services and by making referrals to community physicians; work with existing programs and help to develop new systems to achieve highest measures of quality for resource utilization and inpatient care; work with other members of medical staff to develop roles and provide leadership in committees, taskforces and other areas related to inpatient care and patient transition; and grow knowledge related to patient care and to SVMC and Hartford HealthCare system through continuing education and extend other’s knowledge of Hospital Medicine by participating in educational and committee activities. Will work at SVMC, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
Qualifications
The minimum requirements for the Hospitalist Physician position are: a U.S. M.D. or D.O. degree or its foreign equivalent; completion of three-year residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; board eligibility or certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; and possession of or eligibility for unrestricted Connecticut medical license.
