Job Summary:
Responsible for direct patient care by reviewing patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families. Provides general medical care for hospitalized patients, and performs procedures in the inpatient setting. Serves as the patient's primary physician during hospitalization.

Principle Responsibilities
- 600+ bed hospital with a total hospitalist census around 350-450
- Robust and nationally recognized subspecialist support - all specialties except rheumatology (phone consult only), dermatology, and OMFS
- Strong intensivist group for support in our ICUs, mostly closed but with option to stay involved in less acute cases.
- Strong teaching atmosphere with the option to work with our associated Internal Medicine residency program.
- Associated with a nationally recognized bedside ultrasound program through the IM residency with training for hospitalists and hand-held ultrasounds available for rounding.
Practice Details
- 80+ hospitalist group including APPs
- Schedule generally a mix of 7on/7off/5on/9off with 12 day stretches every other month with 8- and 12-hour shifts.
- Workload is 12-16 encounters per weekday and 18-20 encounters on the weekends.
- Compensation is RVU based with very attainable goals.
Job Requirements
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
- BE/BC with ABMS or AOA in Internal Medicine required.
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
- ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - required within 180 days of hire
