Noble Hospice is looking for a qualified Hospice Spiritual Care Coordinator. Hospice Spiritual Care Coordinator's offer spiritual guidance and support and are committed to working with the terminally ill. Spiritual services encompass a lot. In addition to support, guidance and counseling, they can include prayer and worship services as well as rituals and traditions that honor your faith.
Hospice chaplains counsel patients and their families with regard to spiritual concerns. Many patients who take advantage of the spiritual services provided through hospice find that the chaplain helps them gain a better perspective, alleviating some of their depression and stress. Others consider their spirituality very private and are not comfortable discussing such matters with loved ones. In these instances, a chaplain can provide an outlet for needed conversation about end-of-life concerns.
Responsibilities:
1. Complies with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards of ministerial and pastoral care.
2. Participates in the Interdisciplinary Group meetings and provides expertise in the spiritual component of hospice care.
3. Makes contact with clergy or appropriate spiritual representatives for patients and families as indicated.
4. Records clinical notes in the patient's electronic medical record.
5. Bereavement calls, mailings, and assessments.
Qualifications:
1. Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology, or appropriate certification in hospital or pastoral ministry.
2. Experience in working with patients/families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.
