Hospice and Palliative Medicine Veterinarian - Full-Time, East Bay Area - Sign on BONUS offered!
Are you looking to regain that elusive work-life balance?
Does complete flexibility in your day sound like an appealing change of pace?
How about getting back to the art of medicine, connecting with your clients and patients in a meaningful way instead of rushing from one exam room to another?
If so, Pet Hospice, a member of BluePearl Ancillary Medical Services, is seeking a full-time Veterinarian to join our bright, huge-hearted team! As a member of Ancillary Medical Services at BluePearl, we function independently, and our structure allows us the advantages of a large organization while keeping that grassroots, intimate feel.
Veterinary hospice & palliative care is a rapidly emerging field within veterinary medicine. Pet Hospice is not only dedicated to being at the forefront of care, but we're also the team leading the charge. Our expansion within BluePearl specialty hospitals positions us to set the bar for Hospice and end-of-life services nationwide.
Summary of the role:
Our veterinarians are available for both home-based and telehealth consultations, providing palliative care services with a focus on pain management, symptom control and quality of life guidance in addition to compassionate, skilled euthanasia.
You will not be practicing alone in a silo. We take an interdisciplinary approach to care, and you will work alongside a highly skilled team of Veterinarians, RVTs, Care Coordinators, and Pet Loss Specialists to provide superior care. We utilize our nursing team and telehealth for ongoing management, allowing a remote approach to patient care.
You will experience a light-hearted, team-oriented environment big on life-work balance. We don't like stress and our goal is to have work flex around life, not the other way around. Our mission is to put the joy back into medicine, which is why we offer extended appointment times, allowing an in-depth approach to patient care and the fostering of client relationships. Hospice and Palliative care is a growing field with incredible opportunities for education and professional development, which we encourage and support.
A culture of collaboration.
We recognize that nothing we do is possible without our team, and we are demonstrating just what's possible when we bring together remarkable people. We are driven by a thirst for change. We are constantly learning - from each other and from inspired thinkers around the world. We foster a culture of collaboration where we learn from each other, inspire one another, and grow from our combined successes.
We are looking for veterinarians with hearts and smarts. Culture and team dynamics are critical to us, and we want to bring into our fold a veterinarian who is light-hearted, a kind and natural communicator, and who shares in our desire to remain at the forefront of specialty Hospice and end-of-life care.
In addition to "hearts and smarts", we are looking for veterinarians who wish to advance their skills in specialty-level pain and symptom management and end-of-life care. We want someone who shares in our desire to make a lasting contribution within the field of Palliative Medicine within our industry.
Do what you love. Make a difference doing so.
Pet Hospice is about being something bigger than ourselves. It's about impacting the world through re-writing the narrative for end-of-life care, not just for our patients and families, but for ourselves. We passionately pursue new ideas, innovations and strategies that will shape medicine and define careers, and we are dedicated to getting you where you want to go, doing what you love. Our career model allows flexibility around you, your family and everyday life. A full-time schedule is considered 4 days a week, 4 appointments per day, with flexibility each day as to when appointments are seen. Our appointments are 1-to-2 hours in length, so you never feel rushed. Our care is focused solely on in-home Palliative Medicine, hospice, advanced chronic pain management and euthanasia.
Benefit from a team. Thrive with mentorship.
We are an interdisciplinary team, and you will be supported by a skilled team of veterinarians, RVTs, Care Coordinators, and Social Workers. We support a culture of learning and opportunity, and we will build a career around what excites you. We offer an advanced hospice training program and mentorship to provide extensive professional development to challenge your skills and speed your growth.
