Hose Assembly Tech/Warehouse Worker – entry level position

Full-time Day Shift position: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Employees may be scheduled for additional overtime and extra shifts, as needed.

The Hose Assembly Tech I position assists with assembly of product and readying it for shipment to the customer(s). There are three main functions of the Hose Assembly Tech I: puller, tester and beginning assembler.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Hose Puller: Read and fill orders. Pulls lengths of hose and cuts to customer-specified length. Use forklift to assist in unloading shipping containers, organizing, and storing hose reels.

Assembler: Build and assemble basic stock hose assemblies and lances. Assemble hose per sales order, crimp hose.

Tester: Test all hose assemblies ensuring there are no leaks in the hose. Keep test stand clean and assist in maintaining it under normal operating conditions. Use computer label program to create hose data labels and test certificates. Verify test certificates match test pressures and hose label data. Apply hose data labels to tested hose assemblies; apply caps to hose ends.

  • Maintain accurate records regarding work performed at each stage of production as it pertains to sales orders, logs, charts, and files, to maintain hose and parts inventory.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following approved safety guidelines; perform minor repairs on equipment, as needed.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
  • Report to work on time and complete job tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.

Job Requirements

  • High-school diploma or general education degree (GED); or zero-to-one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Able to perform basic math functions, such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide basic math numbers, including fractions, decimals, and units of measure (standard and metric).
  • Understanding of basic tools and measuring devices (tape measure, scale, etc.) used in manufacturing.
  • Quality-minded with a strong attention to detail and consistency; organized and committed to follow-through on assignments.
  • Works well as a productive member of a team with the ability to clearly communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and/or customers to deliver instructions and/or report problems.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to read and understand instructions, work orders, memos, etc.
  • Able and willing to learn new processes or procedures.
  • Broad range of computer skills preferred: Microsoft Office suite, or related software; inventory/database software (i.e., Business Works), and other Company software programs.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks; must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Able to move about the warehouse/office to access parts and inventory, office equipment, etc.
  • Full range of body motion, including handling and regularly lifting/moving products weighing 10 to 50 pounds; occasional heavy lifting up to 100 pounds; positions self to measure hose lengths on the shop floor.
  • Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or use tools/machines as directed.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Requires vision and hearing corrected within normal range; ability to differentiate between colored hose and components; ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
