Horticultural Installation Technician
- Receive, unload, and unpack plants and other freight
- Select, clean, and prepare plants for installation routes
- Make deliveries of new installation work orders and or replacement work orders
- Maintain installation and color kits
- Load and unload delivery Vehicles
- Vehicle washing and maintenance
- General property/facility maintenance
- On a seasonal basis assist with the delivery of holiday foliage and décor
The Horticultural Installation Technician will be driving a company-owned vehicle and must possess a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must be able to lift 10 lb. water buckets and/or load and unload 50-75 lb. plants and containers throughout the day. Must be able to climb ladders and have good dexterous use of both hands. Must be able to use scissors, pruners, hand saws, hoses, and other small tools. Must be able to apply leaf cleaners and insecticides using hand-held pump sprayers. Must have a satisfactory safe driving record. Must be able to professionally communicate with clients and have a neat and clean appearance.
This is strenuous work requiring good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and the ability to work a 10-hour day in varying greenhouse and/or office conditions.
General Administrative Responsibilities
- Timely arrival each day to the facility, ready to report to work
- Attendance at regular training sessions
- Proper documentation of work orders, and time sheets.
- Timely requests for supplies, tools, and full knowledge of equipment
- Timely communication to the supervisor regarding account problems or concerns
- Friendly, professional communication with client contact.
- Proper maintenance and safe use of company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
