A Day in the Life of Home Support Specialist:
- Support families through a minimum of weekly intensive skill building home visits while providing educational, emotional, and community supports, risk assessment, and confidentiality to maintain a healthy relationship conducive to youth progress on their individualized treatment plan.
- Work in partnership with the therapist and other treatment team members
- Complete, update and maintain all necessary documentation within the guidelines set by COA, Montana ARM's, Contracts, and YBGR Policy and Procedures.
- Identify home visit tools that will assist youth and families in meeting their treatment goals, following the YBGR philosophy of care and curriculum for home visits.
- Participate and engage in monthly supervision/coaching meetings with the supervisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
- May consider a minimum of 6 (six) years of professional experience in a similar role in place of a degree.
- Previous Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience with a bachelor's degree or 6 years without a degree
- Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
- The demonstrated ability to exercise and model good judgment, teamwork, and professionalism, especially in crises, and creative about finding solutions for them.
- Willingness and ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention.
- Good computer/technology skills and ability to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions.
