Fitchburg Public Schools https://www.fitchburg.k12.ma.us/home FPS is currently working with DESE's Statewide System of Support to plan and implement turnaround strategies at two (2) of its schools.

Qualifications:High School Diploma, Associate degree or advanced degree preferredExperience in a school settingComputer literate, ability to perform basic functions including email, creating simple and complex documents, working with spreadsheets and databaseExperience with Student Information Systems preferred. (X2/Aspen)Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or another language, including speaking and writing preferred.Must be able to sit or stand for long periods, lift up to 20 lbsWalking and/or light running may be required during the school day.Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solveStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholdersBelief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social-emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student.Responsibilities: Establish a partnership between parents and schoolWelcome families when visiting or joining the schoolAssist parents to meet the needs of students, such as contacting mental health agencies, attending meetings as necessaryArrange parent conferences as directed by Administration, Teachers, Guidance and Nursing Staff as needed.Attending meetings as necessary and translating as needed*Conduct home visits with guidance and or administration.Track truancy concerns and report to guidanceAssist administration and clerical as needed.Other duties as assigned by Administration, as necessary.

Terms of Employment/Salary/Work Year:As negotiated by the Fitchburg School Committee and the Fitchburg Education Association http://fitchburg.massteacher.org/Contract.html (FEA).
