- Previous experience as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician, with experience in processing dermatological specimens
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of all technical aspects in the areas of histology and pathology, laboratory techniques, and quality control
- Ability to embed, cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens following established policies and procedures and laboratory standards. *Grossing experience also a plus but not a requirement.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with superiors, peers, physicians, and others
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational and computer skills
Certification and education requirement:
- Histotechnologist (HTL, ASCP) or Histotechnician (HT, ASCP) certification preferred
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related field
- Must pass a color vision test
