Here we grow again!! Immediate Employment Rabkin Dermatopathology Lab, P.C., is a growing physician-owned dermatopathology lab with a 30-year, well-established reputation in Western PA. Rabkin Lab is seeking a histotechnician (FT, PT or PRN) to support its rapidly growing laboratory located in Pittsburgh, PA. We are searching for a histotech that completed NAACLS certified histology school and is HT (ASCP) Certified. B.S degree preferred or an Associates of Science degree and 3 years’ experience.

Our laboratory team strives for excellence through its expertise in dermatopathology and patient care with a proven team of dermatopathologists and experienced technologists and administrative staff. The ideal candidate will possess superior diagnostic ability, excellent communication skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to be a part of an exciting and expanding organization. We work in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment. This team approach to providing excellent patient care helps facilitate a 48-hour turn-around-time and the development and maintenance of strong patient-focused client relationships.

Essential Duties:

• Knowledgeable in Histology Laboratory grossing, embedding, sectioning, and staining for microscopic evaluation by our dermatopathologists.
• Perform and demonstrate proficiency and understanding of specimen grossing, fixation, cutting, mounting on slides, and staining of tissue samples requiring high quality, neatness and accuracy while working in an independent environment.
• Maintain all histology equipment and following all quality controls.
• Comply with safety standards per OSHA/CLIA policies and procedures manual located in the Dermatopathology Lab Department Manual.
• Prepare stain control slides for positive staining for physician quality assurance.

Desired Qualifications:

• Formal histotechnology training. Associate or Bachelor’s degree is desirable but not required.
• Experience working in a histopathology lab is desirable
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
• Self-motivated and self-accountability to best practices
• Ability to manage multiple tasks throughout the workday
• Skilled at adapting to changing priorities throughout the workday as patient care dictates
• Able to work and communicate at all levels in a collaborative team environment
