Responsibilities: - Perform histology procedures including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting of tissue samples - Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments - Prepare reagents and solutions for laboratory procedures - Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and results obtained - Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards - Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis of patient samples - Assist with the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and technicians Experience: - Minimum of [X] years of experience as a Histotechnologist or in a similar role - Proficient in aseptic technique and maintaining sterile conditions in the laboratory - Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures related to histology - Experience working in a clinical or research laboratory setting - Ability to phlebotomize patients for specimen collection (if required) - Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostics - Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret test results Skills: - Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise tissue handling - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals and patients - Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment - Proficient computer skills for data entry and result reporting Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
