Job Title: School Nurse (RN)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced School Nurse with PEL Certification to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of our students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct healthcare services to students, including assessing and addressing their physical, mental, and emotional health needs.
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to school policies and protocols.
• Conduct health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and maintain accurate records of student health data.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with specific medical conditions.
• Respond to medical emergencies, accidents, or injuries on school premises, providing immediate care and taking appropriate action as necessary.
• Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including preventive measures, nutrition, hygiene, and overall wellness.
• Maintain a safe and clean healthcare environment, including the proper disposal of medical waste and the organization of medical supplies.
• Stay updated on current health trends, advancements in medical practices, and relevant regulations to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.

Requirements:

• Active RN License in IL
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement issued in IL
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Prior experience working as a School Nurse or in a similar healthcare setting is highly preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of healthcare regulations, procedures, and protocols relevant to school settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and make quick decisions when necessary.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage student health records and maintain medical supplies.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
