Galaxy Logistics is looking for a Hiring Manager.
Galaxy Logistics, an Amazon Delivery Service Partner, is a package delivery business operating in Hawthore, New York. We provide the last mile delivery of Amazon packages to homes and businesses in the Westcheaster Area.
A successful Hiring Manager candidate will be responsible for recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring and onboarding new employees. Candidate will also perform additional tasks and duties relating to HR. Candidate will report directly to the owner.
This position will be on-site at our warehouse in Hawthorne, NY. It will require reliable transportation to / from Hawthorne, NY. You will be provided with a MacBook Air and iPhone so familiarity with iOS and MacOS is required. Candidate should have familiarity with the Amazon Delivery Service Partner Program, high volume hiring, Indeed, and Google Suites. The candidate must be comfortable in a fast paced, high volume, demanding environment.
This position is full with a schedule to be determined.
Job Responsibilities
Recruiting:
- Collaborate with owner to develop an effective recruitment strategy.
- Manage Job Boards (Indeed, Craigslist, etc).
- Plan and execute in person career fairs and hiring events.
Screening:
- Review all applications and determine next steps in the hiring process.
- Following up with applicants to make sure they complete their entire application.
- Answer any applicant questions about the application process, training process, or job requirements via phone, text, and email.
Interviewing:
- Conduct Initial screening interview via phone or videoconference.
- Schedule applicants for in person interviews.
- Conduct in person interviews at our delivery station.
- Conduct in person during weekly hiring events at our delivery station.
Hiring:
- Send offer letters to successful applicants.
- Make sure all necessary hiring paperwork is filled out correctly and is on file.
Onboarding:
- Setup internal employee accounts.
- Guide employee through background checks and screenings.
- Schedule employee for trainings.
Qualifications/Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the hiring field.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Familiarity with Google services, including Google Sheets and Google Docs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with delivery jobs (Postmates, DoorDash, Amazon Flex, etc.)
- Familiarity with transportation jobs (Uber, Lyft, etc.)
Must be willing to accept training as a Delivery Driver to better understand our business. We believe that it is impossible to hire, train, and coach effectively without knowing the job firsthand.
