The company is a dynamic and rapidly growing engineering firm committed to delivering high-quality transportation projects. We are seeking a seasoned and growth-oriented engineer to join our team as the Highway (Civil) Department Manager. This leadership role is instrumental in driving the growth of our Highway Department, with a focus on project execution and collaboration with clients and project teams.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in Highway Design.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (a master's degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in N.J. (a NY State license is beneficial).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership:
- Demonstrate strong engineering judgment, emphasizing quality and financial excellence.
- Provide guidance on project approach, scope, cost, and schedule in collaboration with regional and office leadership.
- Identify opportunities for innovative solutions and strategic teaming partnerships.
- Mentorship and Training:
- Possess a good understanding of NJDOT and NJTA processes and procedures.
- Mentor and train design staff to ensure continuous professional development.
- Client Collaboration:
- Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish needs and address design/permitting issues.
- Foster strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project life cycle.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate closely with project teams and other Project Managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Work with regional and office leadership to align project goals with overall company objectives.
- Engage in effective communication to convey project updates and requirements.
