Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Calibrate and program protective relays in medium and High Voltage Substations (including T/L and distribution circuit/feeder protections).
2. Test protective relay systems with current injection (Doble F6150 and Protective Relay Suite).
3. Test power transformers, including power factor test (Doble M4100)
4. Test power circuit breakers up to 230kV and medium voltage switchgear (timing test and hi-pot).
5. Test CT’s and PT’s for ratio, polarity, saturation, etc.
6. Perform functional testing of relays and associated control schemes during commissioning or system upgrades.
7. Test medium voltage cables (megger, hi-pot, etc.)
8. Conduct primary current injection tests (Omicron CPC 100 or equivalent).
Experience:
1. Minimum of 2yrs of experience as a Relay Technician or similar role in electrical substations.
2. Proficiency in testing protective relay systems, including programming and calibration.
3. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, substation operations, and relay protection principles.
4. Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to relay protection and High Voltage Substation equipment.
5. Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing clear documentation.
7. Electrical Technician or related certification is a plus.
8. Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to industry best practices.
