Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep Theology Department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive educator for the role of Theology Teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:
- Has a passion for imparting social justice-focused theological education and understands its importance for High School students in the modern world;
- Collaborates with course team members, students, and parents to create the best learning environment for all students;
- Builds and facilitates pedagogically relevant content that fosters deep conversations and critical thinking skills within theological coursework;
- Offers consistent and constructive feedback to student work that creates a growth mindset for each individual student;
- Strong skills in classroom management, engagement, and daily routines which will enhance student learning and educational stability;
- Motivated to continue learning and reading outside of prep for the classroom to model lifelong learning;
- Willing to adjust and be flexible with changes that will happen throughout the academic year;
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
- Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching.
Qualifications:
BA degree in Theology
MA degree in the content area is preferred
