Article V, Paragraph B, of the CBA between the Board and the Association provides for announcement of the following vacancies, effective 2023-2024 school year.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, required.
- Michigan Teaching Certificate required.
- Possess the appropriate teaching certifications for the position being taught.
- Knowledge of instructional methods appropriate for students at the respective grade level.
- Desire and ability to work with students at the specified age level with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing their educational goals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Evidence of outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of effective time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
- Proven record of collaborating within a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven record of establishing positive and collaborative relations with staff, parents, and students.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, including department and building goals.
- Understanding of Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) in relationship academics, behavior/social emotional, and PBIS.
- Experience using multiple forms of data to make decisions that support student progress and growth.
- Ability to assist and consult with teachers and administrators on a variety of related matters.
- Maintains professionalism with students, staff, parents, vendors, community members, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school's policies and procedures.
- Strong work ethic, moral values, and personal discipline.
- Must be able to meet or exceed the Michigan Department of Educations "Michigan Code of Educational Ethics".
Responsibilities:
- Presents lessons in a comprehensive manner using visual/auditory/kinesthetic means to facilitate learning.
- Provides individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning that encourages curiosity and continued improvement.
- Creates and prepares daily lesson plans for appropriate age and learning skill level and making adjustments when needed.
- Assesses and records student progress and provides grades and feedback in a timely manner.
- Measures progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis, attends parent conferences, and provides progress reports as required.
- Creates and keeps records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with guidelines and policies.
- Attends conferences and workshops to further advance professional development.
- Maintains an organized and orderly classroom that promotes creativity, learning, and risk taking.
- Collaborates with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participates in regular meetings.
- Exercises open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
- Enforces district, school-wide, and administrative policies.
- Disciplines students (according to school/district policy) when necessary and communicates said discipline with supervisor, parents/guardians.
- Plans, executes, and participates in educational in-class and outdoor activities, and field trips.
- Observes and understands students' behavior and psyche and reports suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
- Contributes to student learning, growth, and advancement.
- Demonstrates academic competence in subject area(s) and displays an inclination for developing integrated and interdisciplinary work across the curriculum.
- Maintains a growth mindset toward student learning, teaching practice, and personal/collective professional development.
- Demonstrates a high degree of self-efficacy; holds themselves accountable for learner outcomes and advocates for their students; works efficiently; and believes in their ability, the capability of their students, and themselves to succeed and excel.

- Designs and facilitates differentiated and personalized learning goals and activities that follow a coherent sequence, are aligned to instructional goals, and engages students in high level cognitive activity.
- Is aware of and implements Restorative Practices strategies in the classroom and school environment.
- Regularly and actively participates in building/district committee work, and after hours building/district/community events, etc.
- Effectively implements the requirements of all IEPs, 504s, Health Plans, Behavior Plans, etc.
- Participates in all necessary meetings for their students (IEP, 504, Student Study, etc.)
- Implements all Board approved curriculum with fidelity.
- Maintains confidentiality in compliance with FERPA.
- Timely attention to/completion of lesson planning, student grades, student/family/administrative communication, email, voicemail, etc.
- Completes other job duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
- Employee shall properly implement Board Policy 3122, Policy 4122, and Policy 2260 on non-discrimination and shall comply with Federal and State laws and regulations, particularly Part 1 104 of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 CFR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
