Position Summary:
WorkFit Medical Staffing, PLLC is seeking a High School Athletic Trainer for a contract assignment located in Geneva, NY.
Excellent Pay Rate: $45.00/hour!
Flexible Schedule based on the needs of the Athletic Program.
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced High School Athletic Trainer to join our dynamic sports program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the well-being of student-athletes, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and have a deep understanding of sports medicine and injury prevention. The High School Athletic Trainer will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety, health, and optimal performance among our student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Injury Prevention and Assessment:
- Conduct pre-season screenings to identify potential health concerns and injury risks.
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs tailored to individual and team needs.
- Evaluate and assess injuries promptly and provide appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Medical Support:
- Be present at practices, games, and competitions to provide immediate medical care in the event of injuries.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure athletes are physically prepared for competition.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all student-athletes.
- Rehabilitation and Recovery:
- Design and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured athletes, coordinating with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals when necessary.
- Monitor the progress of injured athletes and adjust treatment plans as needed for optimal recovery.
- Education and Communication:
- Educate athletes, coaches, and parents on injury prevention strategies, proper nutrition, and overall health and wellness.
- Communicate effectively with coaching staff regarding the status of injured athletes and any modifications needed for training.
- Emergency Response:
- Develop and implement emergency action plans for athletic events.
- Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and administer first aid as needed.
- Equipment and Facilities:
- Ensure that all sports equipment and facilities meet safety standards.
- Collaborate with the school administration to address any safety concerns related to sports facilities.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in sports medicine and attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions.
- Maintain appropriate certifications and licensures.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
- Current certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
- State licensure as required by law.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, athletes, and other healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of and adherence to ethical and professional standards in athletic training.
