Teaches district approved curriculum maps based on the Indiana State Standards
• Organizes and presents daily lesson plans that reflect instructional best practices as outlined in school improvement plans or
professional development initiatives
• Utilizes the district approved scope and sequence when lesson planning and analyzing data
• Attends assigned professional development and implements new practices successfully
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that provide developmentally age appropriate experiences and promote
student engagement
• Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
• Meets the "effective", "highly effective" rating as it relates to the SCS Teacher Evaluation
• Assists in the development and evaluation of curriculum maps
• Participates in the textbook adoption process
• Regularly uses data to guide educational decisions and instruction
• Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
• Administers all assessments required by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and complies with Testing Security
Policy
• Implements strategies to keep students and parents informed of academic and behavioral performance
• Identifies students' needs, makes appropriate referrals, and implements appropriate accommodations/interventions as
outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEP), Individual Learning Plans (ILP), 504 Plans, or Multi-tiered System of Support
(MTSS) Plans
• Creates an organized environment conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays, interest/learning centers
or exhibits of student work
• Utilizes technology as an instructional, communication, and management tool
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve and promote an effective learning atmosphere
• Communicates proficiently in English oral and written communication
• Communicates and meets with parents as needed
• Responds to parents' inquiries in a timely manner
• Contributes to the school as a whole
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures
of the school district
• Coordinates the work of instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers in the classroom, school events, and field trips
• Maintains knowledge of corporation and school policies
• Handles clerical functions/reports related to job responsibilities in a timely manner
• Maintains satisfactory attendance
• Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook
• Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
