The SCS Computing Facilities group is seeking a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for customer satisfaction to provide outstanding support at the forefront for the School of Computer Science.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for internal users, addressing their technical queries and concerns.
  • Support Linux, MacOS, Windows operating systems and mobile device platforms (iOS/Android).
  • Use an incident management system such as ServiceNow, to meticulously document and track incidents for ongoing improvements and future reference.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of support documentation and training materials for a variety of audiences, such as students, faculty, and staff.
  • Work seamlessly with teams across SCS Computing Facilities and CMU, resolving issues and addressing concerns.
  • Keep abreast of new technology relevant to the SCS community.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field OR at least one year of experience of providing end-user IT computing support, deskside strongly preferred.
  • Expert customer service skills and strong dedication to service, with effective written/verbal communication, technical follow-through, personal organization and prioritization.
  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Desirable, though not required: Academic background, pertinent certifications, or coursework like CompTIA A+, Apple Certifications, Microsoft Certifications, or equivalent qualifications.
